Versatile camera for all photography challenges - landscapes, portraits, nature.

As a long time Alpha camera owner this is the most comfortable I've been with any camera.

This is the first sony I've owned i was a devoted cannon owner I'm a semi pro but sold all my cameras and equipment eg: studio lights and all of my cannon equipment. Basically went into retirement with photography. The bigger is difficult in the daily truth. But recently took a trip to Canada. I missed camera outperformed anything I've used before.

Autofocus locks on to bird eye and there is minimal noise in low light.

I have had many cameras over the years but this new SonyA6700 offers something for everyone. The Sony out of camera colour palette is superb and the AF is almost unbelievable, its ability to lock on to virtually any moving subject is uncanny, making sharp images available no matter what the subject is doing. The large grip is a joy and it holds the latest battery which will return approx 650 images meaning all day shooting is now possible without the need for an additional battery. Finally, thank you Sony for at last updating the menu system which used to be terrible. Over all this camera is certainly 5 stars.

I bought the camera and 16-50 lens kit as a lightweight travel camera. Previously have been a lifelong Canon user but the GX5 was just too small for me. It handles like a 'proper' camera and the quality is excellent. My only issue is that it is perhaps overly complex with too many programmable settings for a casual user and some of the advanced settings are impossible to work out given there are no manuals just a download link every time you have a problem. Sony didn't produce any training videos either so you are stuck with trawling through other enthusiast's submissions on YouTube. Am sure I will get there eventually, at the moment still learning my way through the system. If they had a camera with half the functionality available I would probably have bought that and given it 5 stars. Oh and apparently it shoots video.

Still getting used to the camera, but good so far. Auto focus excellent. Not tried video yet.

I havent event started going out yet. Just uograded my kit with just the body and I dont regret buying thia. The price point I think is just righ for its capability and my skills at present.

I bought this a month ago, so far I am still learning. Because I am still new to photography.

I want to love this camera but despite its blazing fast and accurate autofocus, which was one of the top reasons I chose it, it also has a couple of serious flaws. I've been using my 6700 almost daily for the past 4 months and feel that's a fair amount of time to make judgement. Physically, the proportions are excellent and it is much more comfortable holding the 6700 than my old a6000. The grip is basically perfect. The buttons and dials have an absolutely premium tactile feel. When working properly, the autofocus is killer. I've taken thousands of photos of food, people, cars, animals and insects, always in manual mode, and with the exception of one photoshoot, have only experienced autofocus failure a 3 or 4 times. During the failed photoshoot, the camera worked for the first 20 mins and then suddenly changed, indicating focus, appearing crisply focused, but when I actually pressed the shutter the photo would be completely out of focus. Occasionally I'd see the focus target square jump somewhere else just as I pressed the shutter, sometimes it would remain on the subject and indicate that it was focused. And yet over one hundred photos were totally out of focus as I experimented with settings. Turning it off and on again and pulling the battery did not solve the problem and I had to resort to full manual focus to finish the job. The second (well documented) problem is the atrocious viewfinders. The colour accuracy is deplorable and the colour adjustments are far too minimal. Despite this, photo colour accuracy is superb and I've been very happy with the vast majority of photos taken. Unfortunately my 6700 suffers from the also well-documented 'battery exhausted' problem. For those who don't know, the camera will sometimes believe the battery is exhausted even though it is charged, up to and including 100%. The solution to this is to remove the battery and put it back in, or put in a different battery. Very annoying. I'm hoping Sony fixes these issues for the next release. It is potentially an incredible camera.

As an amateur photographer this camera has everything I need and lots more to learn to get the most out of it. I have a small hand size and it fits the grip perfectly, although I think anyone with a large hand may find their small finger ends up underneath the grip, which could be ok for support. Although the camera can be set to work in Auto mode and do everything for you, there are so many other modes to learn and use to get the best out of the camera and best quality images. There are way too many features to discuss here, but so far I have to say its an easy recommendation from me to any amateur, and probably professional photgraphers, to get and use this camera.

The camera is well built and feel sturdy in the hand and is just the right size to slip into a bag, the features and image quality of this camera is amazing and the video capabilities seem endless! However if you come from the older menu systems (such as the ones on at the a6000 ) the new menu system may feel unnatural at first but you get used too it pretty fast.

I purchased in June 2023 very good product operates well . only problem with poor design eye piece cover that clips on , this can slip off had to replace twice,

I upgraded from my eight year old A6300. I was concerned that the benefits of the new A6700 might not be noticeable. I was wrong! This camera is not evolutionary compared to the A6300. It is revolutionary. The improvements are so significant that it is hard to think of these cameras in the same family. Without any question, hands down, this upgrade is worthwhile, well worth the investment, and you will see it on your first shot.

Been using this camera for 6 months now and love the quality of the photos, I am using an 18-135 lens and it solves all the purposes.

i bought 1 month ago, after deciding over sony ev10ii. the viewfinder is important when i go bkk, very bright day most of time.

The Sony files are almost impossible to view, even after making proxies. I can't believe I have to pay to use a Sony file viewer like Catalyst Browse or Catalyst Prepare. That's a terrible way to treat customers. I buy a product and can't really use it without purchasing additional software.

Coming from a DSLR user, this is a small and powerful camera with great features and a great tool for travel use without the bulk and weight.

The actual product that has me committed to Sony cameras is the Sony 70-350 G lens. I initially tried that lens with a Sony a6400 and was highly impressed with the reach and the IQ. I decided to replace my Canon EF 100-400 L IS II lens with Sony a6700 + 70-350 G lens combination which together weighs less than the Canon 100-400 lens but has more reach, portability and fun-factor than that Canon lens alone. I am currently trying out other Sony lenses such as the 16-55 G and 18-135 and comparing them with my main Canon R setup. Currently my Canon R6 II + RF 24-105L lens still edges out the a6700 + 16-55 in most cases but that is not unexpected. The Sony FF bodies I find interesting (a1, a9) are expensive compared to the R6 II. However keeping on point about the a6700, I have to say it has very well and truly replaced the Canon telephoto setup for me because Sony has excellent support for APS-C and the a6700 overall is the best APS-C body I could have had.

I bought this camera a few weeks ago to start a YouTube channel and I'm not at all disappointed in the clarity and beauty of the shots it takes. And I mostly had it paired with the Sigma 16mm 1.4 which is a great combination. But I also use this for live streaming, work calls etc and that's where the disappointments show up - overheating! I have the overheat threshold/limit turned up, and sitting in my air conditioned office and this thing cuts off in 30 mins due to overheating. I attached an aftermarket camera fan to it which kept the thing alive, but moments after the battery on the fan died, the camera went down with it. Longest shoot I can get out of it is 40+/- mins. This camera is probably next level for most people but if you're live streaming or doing long content video it's probably more annoying than the money you're saving from stepping up a level to a camera with an internal fan. Just ordered the fx30 which has super high marks. Sticking with Sony, but this one just doesn't work for me.

I had bought this camera a while ago and I cannot believe that this camera has so many features pack into a small and portable body, I have some experience with taking pictures but I'm far off from being a professional photographer, and with all of its features, you are bound to make this a camera that suits your needs.

Bought my A6700 2 weeks ago and brought it along to my Perth trip. The AI tracking is superb and I got almost all my images looking sharp. The battery span is great and the monitor works just fine on a sunny day, only struggled a little to watch.

Great camera. I was disappointed because the 6100-6400 have the built in flash, and this 6700 didn’t have one. Also the flip screen is on the side. I prefer the flip screen to be on the top. Great lens and quality.

I’m happy that there’s a flip screen but I hope it can be like a74 with flip and tilt

I purchased the A6700 to replace my Nikon D7500 DSLR, mainly for the crop sensor, the autofocus and tracking, plus the many other features this camera offers. I paired it with the Tamron 150-500mm lens, the tracking and autofocus are very good indeed, but the image quality in jpeg is poor, very noisy above 3000 ISO and not what i was expecting from a modern mirrorless camera, so in that respect i find myself disappointed with my purchase.

It was a big decision to buy this camera from a former Nikon user. Ive gone from having a D5600 to the a6700 and wish I did so sooner. There are so many features that don't get spoken about that just blew me away. Really happy with this purchase!

I’ve had this for a couple of months now and it’s been a brilliant little camera. I pair it with the 200 to 600 lens and it gives amazing reach as its APC.

As someone that had never previously used Sony cameras, I was looking for a smaller lighter alternative to my Full frame equipment for a "carry everywhere" or vacation set up. As video is now taking up a large part of what I shoot, it had to have good video specs and performance. I've had the camera now for several weeks and honestly have to say it's an amazing little camera, small, light with incredible photo and video performance (especially for an APS-C sensor), and gives my full frame equipment a run for it's money. I'd heard a lot about Sony's amazing AF and tracking abilities, and to be honest, it doesn't disappoint and the AF performance in video especially is simply amazing. Fully equipped with all the AI subject tracking modes from it's big brother (the A7R V), it certainly doesn't disappoint. Sure I'd like it to have twin card slots and a higher resolution screen and EVF, but it's still very workable and I guess keeps the price competitive ? Highly recommended.

Still getting to grips with this amazing device, but so far in comparison to my previous cameras including my Canon DSLR it's infinitely better. The auto focus is absolutely amazing and class leading apparently, lightning fast and pin sharp almost always, when it isn't it's usually due to movement when using a slower lens. The bundled 18-135mm lens is a fantastic starter lens, I've photographed landscapes from mountains, portraits at party's, even pictures of white tailed eagles from a boat. I can't wait to see what more can be achieved with this camera and with more lenses.

This is the best-ever APS-C camera from Sony. It feels like a real DSLR. Better grip and is solidly built. The white balance and colour rendition are much better than before. Autofocus with eye tracking is extremely fast. The new menu is easier to navigate than the older A6xxxx cameras. Overall, an excellent purchase with no regrets.

We love our A6700 for Vlogging. Small and nimble but packs so much in.

I bought this 2 months ago and it's so small and compact, it's so easy to always carry it around everywhere. Don't be fooled though by it's small footprint. It packs a hefty punch as a high-end semi-professional camera body, suitable even for professional work.

I bought the a6700 after extensive research and I have to say that it has exceeded my expectations in almost every way. As an amateur photographer I am so pleased with the image quality that I no longer covet a full frame camera and will enjoy this smaller/lighter device and lower cost lenses. I cannot believe the extensive and advanced features that Sony have managed to include, not least that it has changed the way I capture images and video. For example, I now shoot action in aperture priority thanks to ISO AUTO Min. SS and the excellent focus system with subject recognition allowing for practically full-time wide and/or zone shooting. Video capture really is next level with 4K 10 bit 4:2:2 in S-Log 3 producing outstanding results. I rate this camera at 4.5 out of 5 as I have one (just one) issue, the missing 25p frame rate in PAL H.265 (XAVC HS 4K). This means that I have to record video in H.264 (XAVC S 4K) unless Sony update the firmware. Make no mistake, this is a feature rich device and to get the best out of it will require some dedication. but the available customisation of buttons, dials, memories and user menu’s allows this camera to be set up exactly how you would like it. The six (reduced size) images attached to this review were taken with the Sony 18-135mm lens and the last two images show compare ISO 100 with ISO 12800 (after 50% denoise).

Good camera for stills and video. ibis and updated sensor makes a difference. Honestly they packed all the good stuff from their other flagship lines into this apsc camera.

I usually shoot birds and nature. AF of this body is very good. Battery life is good. Happy for overall. Just wish to have pre-shooting capture and a bit faster frame rate, as a major rival could provide even at a lower price.

Wanted a lightweight camera with good image quality and has lived up to my expectations highly recommended

Sony A6700 has a compact and lightweight design makes it suitable for on-the-go shooting without compromising on functionality. It has a good image quality with improved low-light performance and dynamic range. The color reproduction and sharpness are also very good.

My first digital camera since 2010 when my Lumix failed and I reverted to using the iPhone. For over 10 years I've used my iPhone as my camera and am now ready for a full digital camera experience. I am not disappointed with the Sony a6700. It's an awesome machine, something that will grow with me and cover all the uses I bought it for: nature and travel photography and, astrophotography.

I had a Sony a6300 before this camera, the improvements, The improvements the a6700 are huge. I do wildlife photography, and I needed a faster focusing camera, along with the Sony 70-350 lens it's a brilliant set up, light to carry and a good price.

Used it for bands and wildlife no problems various lens and 1.4x

Bought this camera with no knowlegde in photography. Learning along the way. Watching videos and doing research on how I can fully utilise the camera. So far, it is going awesome !

This is a hugely capable and very responsive all-rounder that now coalesces all the excellent features from around the Sony stable into one compact package. I bought the A6700 primarily as an accessory for my Sony G 200-600mm to get the maximum out of it and it does that handsomely. The animal-tracking AF is amazing and has the parameters to fine tune it for all situations. As a result my number of keepers has increased dramatically. The fully-articulating screen is a very important feature for me and I missed it from my days with the R1. It’s great to have it back and I’m not much disturbed by it not being on-axis - it’s just like using a video cam - no problem. Screen resolutions are good and manual focus is far easier than it used to be because of it. The touch controls work well and are reasonably responsive. I’m using them more, especially when the screen is folded out and easy to access. There is plenty of display customisation. The redesigned grip is also very welcome and while I needed a baseplate attached to the A6000 to provide support for my little finger, I don’t need one with the A6700. However, the on-off switch is ergonomically poor with a tiny little pip to operate it and an awkward location when in the off position. I would have much preferred the solutions used on the F828 or the R1. The IBIS is nice to have and allows shooting hand-held down to 1/15th sec. with my Touit 50M but I never had problems without it for the shooting I do. The improved menu system, focus bracketing, compressed lossless RAW and front control dial all make this a great piece of equipment. I’m going to enjoy learning and using it very much.

I have been using Sony alpha cameras for the last couple of years and the a6700 is probably one of the best.

I used for over a month as I am a wildlife photographer wanting more reach. The camera has not disappointed me. When using the previous A6600, the images are usually softer than my full frame A7iv. Now the A6700 is significantly better than the A6600 in autofocus. I can get shots as sharp as A7iv consistently. The detection of birds has improved compared with the A7iv. Only down side is the frame rate and the buffer. How I wish the frame rate is at least 20fps and the buffer is at least 300 or more shots for raw.

Bought to go along with my two A7 series cameras and to be honest it outcompetes the A7iii and in some respects the A7IV, only downside is a miss a joystick, only APC some will say, but i have no issues with that and in my opinion is much better at high iso that the two full frame mentioned. One card slot not an issue for me.

Great images, easier menus, super quality. Focussing really easy. No need for full frame for me.

I love this thing, great body style, grip, packed with modern future proof specs and features. Good build quality. Problem to why I giving it a 1 star is that after barely 30 days of owning this thing with less than 400 shutter count, my camera started to intermittently not boot up, nothing on screen and red led light flashes, 3 times then 1 time and repeats. Would require to remove battery and reinsert for it to boot, after that it usually works fine. Sometimes it wont even boot up at all if after removing the battery. Some reason, sony tech support doesn't know how to diagnose the flashing sequence, its clearly telling us that camera is faulty and what could be the solution or error. Now I have to send camera out after just having it for 1 month and be out of a camera for 2-3 weeks. If it wasnt for this weird issue and poor experience, i think this camera is 10 out of 5. Its that good, sadly the faulty issue and lack of information to what the diagnostic flashing could mean.

Overall I’m very happy with the purchase. Both photo and video wise was fantastic. Except that I couldn’t process my raw files in Affinity Photo as a6700 was not added in the list. Hope that soon I can develop my raw files in Affinity photo.

I bought this a few weeks ago as a present to myself for a milestone birthday, to replace the A6000 I’d had since that was released. I haven’t had time to test everything, but I’m really impressed so far. It’s much more than just a step up from the A6000 - the auto focus and tracking is just amazing.

I have only had this camera for a couple of weeks, upgrading from a6500. I am now trying to get to grips with the many difference - it is harder than I thought it would be. The lack of a decent user manual is a downside, especially if this is your first Sony. The "menu" layout is still challenging, but better than on a6500. I hope it will be as nice a camera to use as the a6500 has been.

I’m very disappointed with Sony! The package was poorly wrapped and taped. And as the result The outer box was broken and there was not enough stuff in the box to protect the Sony camera box inside. Sony didn’t even bothered to charge the battery at least for 10% so I could check the quality of the camera and whether it works or not. Brand new Electronics smells new and have that new smell. This box was already opened and refurbished with dusts all over it.

Well built. Excellent image quality. Comfortable in use. And the best autofocus I’ve ever experienced. Superb.
