This update is only applicable for product with the System Software version “Ver. 1.00”.

  1. “Loop recording” mode has been added to shooting mode setting. *1

    -AE shift setting
    -Audio recording setting
    -Wind noise reduction setting
    -Loop recording interval setting
  3. Image quality setting has been added. *2
  4. Movie format setting has been added. *2
  5. Date & time/area/daylight saving time (summer time) setting has been changed.
  6. Time zone of some areas has been changed.

  • Please do not turn off the power during the update; otherwise, the device may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown.

Install

Details

  1. Download the update file

    Click on one of the file Update_RMLVR2V2.exe to begin download. Please save the downloaded file onto the Desktop of your computer (recommended).

    Note: If you want to know how to use new functions, please download and refer to the Instruction Manual above.

    For Windows 8 users:
    Under the initial settings of Internet Explorer, the update file will be saved in the Downloads folder. Click the Desktop tile from the Start screen and find the downloaded file in the Downloads folder by using Explorer.
  2. Start the Firmware Updater
    1. Close all currently running programs on your computer.
    2. Double-click the downloaded file Update_RMLVR2V2.exe.
    3. Firmware Updater starts up.

  3. Connect the device to the computer
    1. Connect the device to the computer with the supplied USB cable. ”USB Mode” appears on the LCD monitor of the device.

      If the computer cannot find the device, the message “ Could not find the device for this update.” appears on the computer display. Try the following if this happens.
      * Disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
      * If the computer has multiple USB terminals, try with the other terminals.
         (Your computer may have some USB terminals on the backside.)



      Sometimes when the device is connected to the computer with the USB cable, the message to encourage rebooting the computer may appear on the computer display. In this case, remove the battery pack from the device, reboot the computer, and follow the procedures from “2. Start the Firmware Updater“.

    2. At this time, confirm  is displayed on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen.

    3. After confirming the above, click Next on Firmware Updater.  Figure below appears on Firmware Updater and  on the LCD monitor of the device respectively.





      Note: From now on, never turn off the device until the system software update is completed.

  4. Check if System Software update is required
    1. After confirming the screens above, click Next. The current version and the version after the update appear on the lower left part of the screen.
    2. After confirming Current version is Ver.1.00, click Next.

      * Update is required


      *Update is not required


      Note: If the screen on above appears, the update is not required.  According to the message, stop the USB connection and click Finish.
  5. Reset the device
    1. Click  on the task tray at the lower right corner of the computer screen to stop the USB connection.



      Note: Please keep the USB cable connected even after stopping the USB connection on the computer with the above operation
    2. Press the ENTER button. to execute.

      Note: The screen turns off when the ENTER button is pressed.  Please proceed to the next step.

    3. Click Next on Firmware Updater.

  6. Start the update
    1. After resetting, reconnection of the device is verified, and the screen below appears.
    2. Click Run to start the update. The progress bar appears while updating (approximately 10 minutes).



      Note: Never turn off the device nor disconnect the USB cable while updating.
  7. Complete the update

    When the update is completed, the screen below appears. Click Finish and disconnect the USB cable.



    Note: Turn OFF the device and then turn ON the device again.
  8. Check the System Software version

    Follow the instruction to confirm the System Software version is Ver. 2.00.
    1. Press the MENU button to select  Remote control setting,  then press the REC/ENTER button.
    2. Please select Version  then press the REC/ENTER button. As shown in the figure below, the display changes, then the system software version Ver. 2.00 is displayed.
