    Preparation

    Check the system software version

    Follow the instructions below to check the system software version. If the system software version is Ver.2.01, the update is not required.

    1. Press the MENU button to select [Remote control setting] , then press the REC/ENTER button.
    2. Please select [Ver]. then press the REC/ENTER button. The system software version is displayed.

    System Requirements

    Operating Systems

    The latest version of the system software update is compatible with the following Macintosh versions:

    • Mac OS X v.10.10 – 10.11 / macOS 10.12 - 10.13*

      *Important:
      For macOS 10.13 - 10.15, please ensure the "DriverLoader_1015" has been installed before update your software.

      IMPORTANT:
      For macmacOS 11 – 12, please ensure the "System Software Update Helper" has been installed before update your software.

    Computer Hardware

    The latest version of the system software update is compatible with the following hardware:

    • Hard drive space: 600 MB or more
    • RAM: 512 MB or more

    Other Hardware

    • Power source for the device. The device which carried out full charge.
      Note: The update can be performed only when the battery power level is (four marks) or more. We recommend that you use a fully charged battery.
    • Cradle and USB cable supplied with the device.
      Note: Update functionality is not guaranteed with any other USB cable.

    Important Notice

    • When performing the System Software update, please use a fully charged the device.
    • Please do not turn off the power during the update; otherwise, the device may become inoperable due to the sudden power shutdown.
    • Prevent your computer from entering Sleep mode.

    How to download the Updater:

    1. Make sure that you are logged on as a user with administrative rights.
    2. After reading the disclaimer, click Download.
    3. The file [Update_RMLVR3V201.dmg] file will start downloading.
    4. Save the file to the desktop of your computer (recommended).

    Install

    Step 1: Start up the Updater

    1. Close all currently running programs on your computer.
    2. Double-click the [Update_RMLVR3V201.dmg] file you downloaded. Do not connect the device at this point.
    3. [Update_RMLVR3V201] is expanded.
    4. Double-click the icon.
    5. To load a kernel extension, the message prompts you to allow the application to make changes. Type the password for the administrative account.



    6. System Software Updater starts up.



    7. Connect the device to the computer.
      1. Connect the device to the computer with the supplied Cradle and USB cable.

        USB Mode appears on the LCD monitor of the device.

        If the computer cannot find the device, the message "Could not find the device for this update." appears on the computer display. Try the following if this happens.
        • Disconnect the USB cable and connect it again.
        • If the computer has multiple USB terminals, try with the other terminals.
      2. After confirming the above, click Next on System Software Updater.

        Note: From now on, never turn off the device until the system software update is completed.
    8. Check if the updating is required
      1. After confirming the screens on the above steps, click Next. The current version and the version after the upgrade appear on the lower left part of the screen.

        Note: If Current version is Ver.2.01, the upgrade is not required. According to the message, stop the USB connection and click Finish.
    9. The device automatically resets
      The screen below appears. 
      Note: Loading icon may not be displayed depending on the OS version you are using.
    10. Start the update
      After automatically resetting, the following screen appears and the update starts. The progress bar appears while updating (approximately 8 minutes).
      Note: Never turn off the device nor disconnect the USB cable while updating.
    11. Complete the update
      Once the update is complete, the screen below will be shown. The device will automatically reboot, which may take a few minutes. Please wait until the same screen on the LCD shows the same screen that appeared before starting the software update. When the screen appears, press the [Finish] button and disconnect the USB cable.

    Step 2: Confirm the system software version of your device is Ver.2.01.

    1. Press the MENU button to select [Remote control setting] , then press the REC/ENTER button.
    2. Please select [Ver]. then press the REC/ENTER button. The system software version is displayed.
