How to Format the Memory Card for an HDR-AS Series Camera

Formatting memory card in the camera

    IMPORTANT: This guide is only applicable for HDR-AS Series Camera only. If you are looking for memory card format procedures for other cameras, refer to How to Format the Memory Card article. 

    Follow the steps below to format the memory card using the camera.

    WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. Formatting erases all the data saved on the memory card. Make sure you have backed up any pictures or videos to your computer before following the steps below.

    1. Insert the memory card into the camera.
    2. Turn on the camera.
    3. Press the NEXT button to display SETUP.
    4. For HDR-AS100V: Press the NEXT button to display CONFG, then press the ENTER button.
    5. Press the ENTER button.
    6. Press the NEXT button to select FORMAT.
    7. Press the ENTER button.
    8. Press the ENTER button again to display SURE? and OK.
    9. Press the ENTER button to start formatting the card.

    NOTE: The LCD displays DONE when formatting is complete.
