Can ECM-L1 be connected to UTX-B40?

It is possible to insert and lock the ECM-L1 3.5mm mini plug into the UTX-B40 audio input connector; however, it cannot be used due to differing electrical signal specifications. Similarly, plug-in power compatible microphones other than ECM-L1 also cannot be used.

When inputting audio to UTX-B40, connect the supplied lavalier microphone, or an optional compatible microphone such as ECM-77BMP or ECM-V1BMP, or use the XLR-BMP conversion input cable for UTX-B40 to connect the line output terminal of an audio mixer or other similar device, or a microphone that does not require an external power source.
