How do you replace the built-in battery?

Since technical knowledge is required to replace the built-in rechargeable battery, customers will not be able to do it by themselves. You will need to disassemble the player to replace the built-in battery. Also, since the device functions exclusively on the built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery, other commercial products cannot be used.

NOTE:

• The performance of the built-in battery decreases depending on the electrical discharge times, usage duration, usage environment, which will shorten the battery life. Once the available battery time when the battery is fully charged decreases to half of what it was at the beginning, the battery should be replaced.
• The built-in battery of a Walkman player can be charged approximately 500 times. If the battery life is short, refer to the following Q&A.
  Battery life is short even when the Walkman is fully charged.

To replace the built-in battery, the service may be required. Depending on your model, replacement of the built-in battery may not be available, please check with Sony Service Center for your service options.
