The thumbnail pictures are not displayed from a USB-connected digital camera when set to either Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) or Media Transfer Protocol (MTP).

The thumbnail pictures may not display if the digital camera is set to either Picture Transfer Protocol (PTP) or Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) when transferring video and still images to a computer. Some models of Blu-ray Disc player, Network Media player, A/V receiver and Home Theater system do not support either of these protocols.

It is recommend to set the USB Connection option on the camera to Auto or Mass Storage/MSC setting, if applicable. A USB card reader that supports the memory card of the camera can also be used.
