I cannot establish a connection with a Wireless LAN access point.

IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.

Try to solve the problem by following the relevant troubleshooting instructions below.

1. Check compliance with wireless technology.

   The camera supports the IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless connection. Check the Help Guide regarding supported wireless technologies.

2. Check the access point environment.

   1. If the power of the access point is off, turn it on.
   2. Move the camera closer to the access point.
      Note: Depending on the surrounding conditions such as obstacles between the camera and access point, signal condition and the materials of the wall, etc., the communication distance may be shorter. Move the camera or decrease the distance between the camera and the access point.

   If the problem persists, go to STEP 3.

3. Check how to set the access point on the camera.

   1. For WPS Push, go to STEP 4.
   2. For Access point settings, go to STEP 5.

4. Check the registration method. (for WPS Push)

   Make sure the access point supports the WPS push button method.
   IMPORTANT:

   • To use the WPS Push function, use an access point which supports the WPS push button method.
   • If the security of the access point is set to WEP, you may not be able to use the WPS Push function on the camera. Change the access point setting to WPA or WPA2, or register the access point manually on the camera.
   • If you cannot use the WPS Push function, register the access point manually on the camera

5. Check the registration method. (for Access point settings)

   • Select the SSID name of the access point from the list, and then go to STEP 6 to register.
   • Enter the SSID name of the access point manually, and then go to STEP 7 to register.
   • (When using an access point supporting WPS PIN) Register the PIN of the camera to the access point.
     Note: Register the SSID name of the access point by selecting from the list or entering manually.

6. Check the entered items. (When selecting the SSID name from the list)

   IMPORTANT: If the function such SSID Stealth activates on the access point, the SSID name may not appear on the network list. Try registration by entering the SSID name manually.

   1. Make sure the correct SSID name is selected on the list.

   2. Make sure the password (passkey) you entered is correct.

   3. Make sure the IP address setting is set to Auto.

   4. If Manual is selected, confirm the address is entered correctly.

      • IP Address

      • Subnet mask

      • Default gateway

   If the problem persists, go to STEP 8.

7. Check the entered items. (When entering the SSID name manually)

   1. Make sure the SSID name you entered is correct.
   2. Make sure the selected security setting (WPA/WEP/none ) and the entered password (passkey) are correct.
   3. Make sure the IP address setting is set to Auto.
   4. If Manual is selected, confirm the address is entered correctly.
      • IP Address
      • Subnet mask
      • Default gateway

   If the problem persists, go to STEP 8.

8. Check the MAC address filtering setting of the access point.

   If you enable MAC address filtering, you need to register the MAC address of the camera to the access point to enable connection with the camera.
   Note: Check the camera's Help Guide for instructions on confirming the MAC address.
   If the problem persists, go to STEP 9.

9. Turn off and turn back on the power of the camera and access point.

   IMPORTANT: Turning off and turning back on the power of the access point will not erase the access point settings, however, you may not be able to connect other devices to the access point, or rebooting may be required.
   If the access point has no power switch, unplug it from the AC outlet and then plug it in again.
   If the problem persists, go to STEP 10.

10. Update the access point firmware.

    Installing the latest firmware to the access point may solve the problem.
    Check if the latest firmware is available on the website of the access point.
