The keyboard and touchpad are not working after uninstalling a Kaspersky Lab product in Windows 8 and 8.1.

    Kaspersky is aware of instances where incomplete installation or removal of the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 software can lead to situations where the keyboard and/or mouse do not respond after reboot.

    The situation can be corrected using the Kaspersky Rescue Disk, as outlined on the Kaspersky website.

    IMPORTANT:

    • If you have a setup CD of Kaspersky™ Internet Security 2013, the CD functions as a Rescue Disk.
    • Kaspersky has issued an update to help prevent this issue from occurring in the future.
    • When removing the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 software, it is recommended that you follow the guide from Kaspersky and use the Kaspersky removal tool.
