IMPORTANT: This article applies only to specific products and/or operating systems. Check the Applicable Products and Categories section of this article before starting these steps.
After using the OLED TV:
- Press the Power button on the remote control to turn the TV off.
- Leave it off for one night.
Notes:
- We recommend performing these steps each day you use the TV.
- Don't unplug the AC cord or cut off the power supply during this procedure.
You can also reduce image retention by performing a Panel Calibration. This will make the TV appear as if it was turned off overnight.
- On the remote control, press the Quick Settings ( or ) button.
- Select Settings → System → Retail mode settings → Picture reset mode → On.
- Turn the TV off and then back on using the AC power cord.
- Before running the Panel calibration, a dialog message will appear on the screen. Start the panel calibration from this dialog.
Notes:- If Picture reset mode is set to On and you disconnect and reconnect the power cord and then turn on the TV, the TV will go into standby for approximately 10 minutes to perform the Panel calibration. Once the panel calibration is complete, the power will restart and display the TV screen.
- Set Picture reset mode back to Off after the panel calibration is complete.
- By setting Picture reset mode to On, the settings for picture and sound will be reset. Record your current settings before performing the panel calibration. You can restore your original settings after returning Picture reset mode to Off.
