Connecting a BRAVIA TV to an external device via the soundbar using HDMI (ARC / eARC) cables
If your Sound Bar is eARC or ARC compatible and has an HDMI input terminal, you can connect an external input device (Blu-ray player, Game console, etc.) directly to the soundbar instead of your TV.
Notes:
- With this type of connection, system sounds and audio responses are not output.
- For TVs with a built-in MIC, the voice recognition performance MIC may be degraded.
Check if your Sound Bar has an HDMI output terminal marked as eARC / ARC or ARC, then select the appropriate option:
- Both the TV and Soundbar support eARC
- Only one of the TV or Soundbar supports eARC, or neither support eARC but do support ARC
Both the TV and Sound Bar support eARC
- Use an HDMI cable to connect the HDMI (eARC) output terminal of the Sound Bar and the HDMI (eARC) input terminal of the TV.
- Use another HDMI cable to connect the HDMI input terminal of the Sound Bar and the HDMI output terminal of the external input device.
